Duplex ultrasound
Color duplex sonography is used to visualize the blood vessels in the breast and especially within breast lesions to help distinguish between benign and malignant tumors.
This technique uses normal ultrasound in combination with Doppler ultrasound. Doppler ultrasound measures the flow of blood. The presence and structure of the blood vessels give are evaluated as well as the velocity of blood flow.
